Open Mic w/ Danny Lang at Gatsby's

Gatsby’s Open Mic 7-10pm. The Signup board opens around 6:15pm.

Now that we have started the Earn A $PAID$ gig event, the board tends to fill up quickly. Due to the voting aspect of the event, not everyone can play between the coveted prime time of 7:30pm-9pm. As a host, I reserve 1 spot each week to ensure each week there is balance. But everyone will get a chance to play and I will run past 10:00pm as needed, though a 2-song cut line may be added.

This is a wonderful event, which we have been running seasonally, since 2015. This allows players who don’t play in public regularly to get a paid gig. Plus is also great for established artists, who are unable to get in the normal Gatsby’s rotation. Bar owners are extremely busy and don’t always have the time to listen to every demo CD dropped off etc., so this event may also allows for a springboard into the Gatsby’s yearly calendar.

Like our Open Mic in general, this event is also tailored towards live music. This is not promoted for Comedy, Poetry etc.

This is a Progressive Event. Meaning that points are accumulated over multiple weeks. Nobody wins based on a single night performance. We will have multiple events between now and May. If you don’t win the first event, your points roll-over to the next event. Only the event winner points reset.
