Community Action Network began its work in the Hikone neighborhood – one of the Ann Arbor Housing Commission public housing communities." Footprintsshoes Their services include educating children and youth through a "free 6-week Educational Summer Camp designed to prevent summer learning loss," a "free After School Program that provides homework & reading support, enrichment activities, social-emotional development, snack, and more," and a "CAN Art & Design program in which students develop creative skillsets to inquire, design, build, and connect with their broader community." Footprintsshoes They also focus on stabilizing families through "holiday gift support, utility shut-off and eviction prevention for Hikone residents, referrals to additional Washtenaw County resources, free food for children & youth in programs, an emergency food pantry, and bi-weekly food distributions
