About
The chief conservator and owner of the Fine Art Conservation and Restoration Laboratory of Michigan, LLC, Celina Contreras de Berenfeld has more than twenty five years of experience in the conservation and restoration of artistic and historic objects. She completed her undergraduate studies at the National School of Conservation and Restoration (Mexico City) and holds a master degree in art conservation from Queen's University (Kingston ON, Canada). And, she is an (abd) Ph.D. in the history and theory of restoration also from Queen's University. Celina is a former head conservator of the Soumaya Museum, Mexico City, She was an associate conservator at West Lake Conservators Ltd. (Skaneateles, New York). Ms. Contreras de Berenfeld has also been a visiting scholar in the Department of Art at the University of Michigan between 2009 and 2011.
