Gentile's The Wine Sellers

A Brief History Lesson

In 1954 Ralph Gentile opened Gentile's as a general carryout at 1565 King Avenue. When his son, Roger Gentile, took over the business in the 1970's his primary mission was bringing fine wine to Columbus. As craft beer became more readily available and popular, he helped to grow that market as well. Through his work in The Ohio State Agricultural Department and tireless dedication to improving wine and beer culture in the central Ohio area, Gentile's The Wine Sellers established itself as a hub of enrichment and enjoyment. Today, the Gentile's Team is proud to continue his legacy through their devotion to education and hospitality for their customers, neighbors, and friends here at the same shop where it all started.
