Gerald Veasley
About
Gerald Veasley is a Philadelphia-based jazz bassist, bandleader, composer, producer, educator, and curator. He is president of Jazz Philadelphia and chair of the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance. He is the artistic director and co-founder of Gerald Veasley's Bass BootCamp, an annual event that has informed and inspired hundreds of bass players of all levels and ages. He curates the Unscripted Jazz Series at SOUTH Jazz Parlor (600 N Broad St, Philadelphia). He has served on the faculty of the University of the Arts. He has recorded or performed with Joe Zawinul, Grover Washington Jr., McCoy Tyner, Philip Bailey, Teddy Pendergrass, and many more. He has recorded ten albums as a leader.
