The Green Tomato Café opened in the Spring of 2012 as a part of the Lawndale Christian Health Center (LCHC) ministry to further encourage a connected Lawndale community. The Green Tomato Café offers affordable, healthful food in a relaxing, inviting, and family-friendly atmosphere.
We love people and food. We want to help our community to live stronger, healthier lives by providing a space for nutrition and community. We make healthier food choices both delicious and accessible, and work hard to create a community environment that is welcoming to all.
The space is thoughtfully planned with free Wi-Fi, parking, and plenty of comfy open seating. Our patio offers additional seating during the warmer months to enjoy sun and fresh air. Our cozy fireplace keeps you warm during long Chicago winters. Long tables can accommodate larger groups for meetings or study groups.
