Heinz Brothers Greenhouse Garden Center

Heinz Brothers Greenhouse Garden Center has been in the plant business since the 1940s. Joel F. (1938-2014) and JoAn Schrock purchased it in 1979 and, given the name recognition it had in the growing industry, decided to maintain the company name. Largely a specialty wholesale seedling operation until 1990, the business began to shift to its current status as a premier retail greenhouse and garden center serving customers throughout the Fox Valley and the Chicagoland area. In 1996, Joel’s son, Jay, who had grown up in the business, came back to work with his dad after attending college and gaining industry experience elsewhere. Joel stepped away from the business in 2008, and Jay took over.
