About
La Tavola—meaning “the family table” —
Is more than just a restaurant to us. It represents our commitment to treating our employees, customers, and community as family. Our journey began in the early ’90s when we met at Tapatio, where I was working in the kitchen. Krista and I started dating in 1994, and we’ve been together ever since.
My culinary journey started when I was fifteen years old as a busser and server, moving into the kitchen at nineteen. I was fortunate to train as a chef’s apprentice under Chef Hubert Seifort, work alongside the Moretti family, and help open Tapatio with Chefs Hartley Coursen and Bruce Hildreth. Meanwhile, Krista graduated from Ohio State in 1995 with a degree in Fashion Merchandising, and though she had no previous restaurant experience, she quickly discovered her talent for baking.
