Maple Leaf Strings

Maple Leaf Strings, founded in 2011, was built on decades of experience within an orchestral string specialty retail shop that focused heavily on school service and beginning string players. Jason and Brad, brothers who grew up in the profession, were taught early on that great instruments empower great students, who then empower great teachers.

The backbone of the business was a simple concept: the instrument, a tool for learning, could either empower or inhibit the student and educator. As students were the primary focus, instruments were selected that would encourage and nurture a passion for music and music education. With this simple student-centered business model, it is easy to see how the retail business that Jason and Brad grew up in flourished around them. When the brothers decided to take what they had learned and venture out on their own, they sought to empower others through Maple Leaf Strings and bring with them the same student-centered business approach.
