MelaMama LLC was established June 2020 during the pandemic in a time where access to quality lactation education and support was scarce. MelaMama Maternal Wellness Incorporated was developed in an effort to provide more support for women of color and the underserved communities.

Since 2020, MelaMama has become a trusted name within the community by building strong rapport with mothers and providing clear, evidenced-based and culturally appropriate education through several modalities including social media platforms to distribute creative and novel educational videos on milk production, alleviating stress on motherhood, and strategies on how partners can support a breastfeeding mother.
