I specialize in Vintage Fender Single coil pickups only. Pre-CBS 1954-1964 and Early CBS Grey bottoms 65-70 plus the 1982 AVRI Red Bottom / White top or the JV Grey bottom pickups.Here you will find my process and information on selecting the correct pickups for you and your instrument.

I've been in the music business for over 50 years. Toured from 1974 to 1999 .Then I opened my own music studio in 1999, M.I.E. Music. I have built what they refer to as "partcasters" and upgraded American and MIM Strats all of my music career, but due to the Covid closures, it gave me time to address a couple things on my bucket list. I wanted to learn how to do nitrocellulose paint jobs and being an owner and a fan of Virgil Arlo's hand wound pickups, who finally retired in 2019 and he wound pickups for the Stars at 1-2 grand a set. Then 3 of our most beloved Fender winders, Pilar Lopez, who was there in 54 and later in 58, trained Abigail Ybbara, who then trained Josephina Campos to the secrets of great sounding hand wound pickups. I had to investigate why they're tones are so special. It became time to do research and development of Leo Fender's single coil pickups. After months of beta testing with some of my favorite guitar players, it was time to bring them to market. This was a very high bar to climb.
