Some people might find it strange that we love insurance as much as we do, but our principal agent Maggie grew up listening to insurance talk around the dinner table every night at her family’s home in Havertown, PA. She still remembers stuffing mailers and biking around town to hang them on doors to help her Mom get her name out there in the early days of starting the business. Maggie’s mother Susie founded the agency in 1998 after a career as a public-school teacher with one simple goal: to go above and beyond the ordinary insurance experience, building relationships one client at a time. Susie’s father Jim worked for a small insurance agency in Oil City, PA in the 1950’s & 60’s when Susie was growing up in Northwestern PA and he taught all four of his kids that small-town values are important, like helping people out and treating them right. All four kids ended up building carriers in the insurance industry across the country with the goal to help others. Maggie’s mom and three uncles built wonderful and long lasting careers in the insurance industry working hard and serving their customers.

Our agency started as a one-woman operation conducting business from her dining room table to our office on W. Eagle Rd. But we are still hard at work for our customers. Maggie is proud to continue running the agency as a second generation owner, after working with her parents for over a decade. Susie started the agency as an agent for just Erie Insurance and since that time Peterson Insurance has expanded, writing with over 30 carriers for Auto, Home, Commercial, and Life Insurance. These days, a lot of agencies are being bought up by larger conglomerates and it’s getting harder and harder to put a face with a name. Maggie and her husband Ted are excited to continue to serve the community and their customers the best way they know how; by being a good local company with a great team of local agents available to meet in person or talk whenever you need us!
