The Commons at St. James Cathedral

St. James Commons includes the cathedral church, the diocesan and cathedral offices and meeting facility, and the Pepper Family Plaza at the corner of Rush and Huron Streets. The renovations created a Welcome Center, Kyle's Place Gallery, the Great Hall, and a commercial kitchen. The cathedral is fully ADA-compliant and includes dedicated classroom space. The re-designed plaza and labyrinth are an urban oasis, a place for reflection and prayer, but also a venue for entertainment and socializing. Programs like Summer in the City, Rush Hour Concerts, and Kyle's Place Art Exhibits bring the commons alive and raise awareness of the Episcopal presence in the city, as do weekday and Sunday feeding ministries.
