Three Chimneys Farm
About
For more than 40 years, Three Chimneys Farm has left an indelible mark on the landscape of the American Thoroughbred industry — and the next 40 years promise to be just as influential. A cornerstone of the global breeding and racing community, the farm has been home to some of the most important stallions in modern history, including Seattle Slew, Dynaformer, and Rahy. Today, that tradition of excellence continues through the farm’s current flagship stallion, Gun Runner.
A bold new chapter began in 2013, when the Borges-Torrealba family acquired Three Chimneys Farm with a clear vision: to breed, raise, and race world-class Thoroughbreds capable of competing — and winning — on the sport’s biggest stages. In the years since, that vision has come to life. The farm has bred or raced an impressive eleven Grade 1 winners under their stewardship, led by none other than 2017 Horse of the Year and Champion Older Male, Gun Runner. A six-time Grade 1 winner of the Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1), Pegasus World Cup (G1), Whitney S. (G1), Woodward S. (G1), Stephen Foster (G1), and Clark H. (G1), Gun Runner retired as North America’s second-richest racehorse with earnings of $15,988,500. In August 2024, he was inducted into the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility, securing his legacy as one of the greatest racehorses of the modern era.
