Twisting Creek Calls

Back in the 1980's I started playing around with attempting to build a box call for myself. I have always liked box calls for their uniqueness and the skill it takes to create an instrument from wood that looks great and also works as a tool of the trade. Nothing sounds better that a custom built call in my opinion, it's just something you cannot get in mass produced calls.

Over my turkey hunting lifetime, I have met many callmakers as I collect turkey calls myself. Along the way, I have asked and bothered those makers in pursuit of creating my own call. These people have been a great help to me in leadership and advice. I began with a two sided box caller similar to the late Neil Cost, one of my favorite call makers discovered in my early days of turkey hunting. I have mirrored his calls from the start and continue to make them in that design. In the past years I have added a one sider and also a longbox to my call line.

I owe a lot of gratitude to my friend Marlin Watkins, for the guidance in my callmaking. Marlins techniques have created a new sound in my calls. I will always be indebted to you for all you have done Marlin. I never dreamed at this point, that I would end up with the product I have today.

All my calls are custom made one at a time. I only produce a limited amount of calls each year due to my job and commitment to my family(not to mention the hunting I do myself). I cannot nor do I ever want to mass produce calls. Each call is painstakingly finished to provide a beautiful tool that will call turkeys. No call will ever be sent out without my personal guarantee on it---if it's not what you like in any manner--I will REPLACE or Refund the call.
