About This Event
The Labor Day Parade proceeds down Kinsman Avenue to Luke Easter Park. It began with a small picnic after Carl Stokes was elected mayor of Cleveland in 1967. The Labor Day Parade & Festival expanded from a parade and picnic in 1971 when Congressman Louis Stokes, as representative for the district, instituted the tradition of holding an annual Congressional District Caucus Parade and Picnic.
