About This Event
NO COVER 10:00pm Listening Party
Crates is a vinyl listening party. Every Thursday at 10 p.m., we’ll unwrap a new release or experience an old favorite, played loud over Berlin’s d&b PA.
This week’s selection is Universal Consciousness (1971) by Alice Coltrane. Released in 1971, Universal Consciousness finds Alice Coltrane at the harp and Wurlitzer, weaving together swirling orchestral arrangements, free-jazz fire, and spiritual searching into something that sounds like nothing else. It's cosmic, meditative, and a little bit wild.
For fans of Pharoah Sanders, John Coltrane, and Sun Ra
