About
Our story goes back, way back. In 1978, my grandfather opened Sammy's Pizzeria in Sheraden. Sammy's was a place where food and neighborhood values came together in perfect harmony. Growing up in the restaurant, I fell in love. My grandmother spent countless hours teaching me how to make some of the best pizzas in the city, beginning my lifelong love affair with cooking.
Continuing to work at Sammy's through high school and college, my grandfather's restaurant provided me the blueprint for the rest of my professional career in the kitchen. After high school, I attended PTC Culinary School and accepted a job after graduation at the Duquesne Club under some of the best chefs Pittsburgh has to offer. This is where my technical skills were perfected, and my unique perspective of what food could be started to develop. Following the Duquesne Club, I took a Sous Chef position at Allegheny Country Club, where I met my wife. It has always been my dream to open my own restaurant where great home cooking meets technical precision. At Capozoli's, we strive to provide our guests with amazing dishes and a familiar atmosphere.
