Since 1976, the Green Mountain Athletic Association has been identified with running in Vermont. GMAA members are about 400 strong, spanning all ages and abilities. GMAA sponsors a full slate of races from 5K through the marathon (Champlain Islands Marathon), including races specifically for women, weekly track workouts and other group runs. The club was one of the founders and is a continuing supporter of the Vermont City Marathon.
