Kempf House Museum

 Built in 1853, the Bennett-Kempf House is a classic example of the then-popular Greek Revival architectural style. The lot was purchased by Mary Bennett, wife of the Postmaster Henry Bennett, for $175; the Kempfs moved in as boarders in 1888 and later purchased the house in 1894. Due to the great interest in historic preser­vation in the 1960s, the city of Ann Arbor decided to establish the Kempf House Museum with a volunteer board.
