About
Millennium Park Foundation stewards one of Chicago's most beloved public spaces, ensuring that Millennium Park remains a free, inclusive cultural destination for both residents and visitors; today and for generations to come. Founded in 1998 as a private 501(c)(3) partner to the City of Chicago's Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, the Foundation curates, preserves, and enhances the Park's world-class art, architecture, gardens, and interactive experiences. Through its unique public–private partnership model, the Foundation has helped shape the Park into the cultural heart of downtown Chicago by funding and supporting construction, ongoing maintenance, and artistic innovation. The Millennium Monument at Wrigley Square is a nearly full-sized replica of a peristyle that originally stood on the same location at the corner of Michigan Avenue and Randolph Street between 1917 and 1953. Millennium Park is FREE and open to the general public.
