Parade of Lights

Fort Madisons Parade of Lights is an annual holiday tradition that illuminates the citt-ys streets and brings the community together to celebrate the festive season. Held every year on the Friday after Thanksgiving, the parade features elaborately decorated floats, each adorned with thousands of lights, creating a mesmerizing spectacle along Avenue G. The procession begins at 5th Street and travels westward on Avenue G, culminating in Central Park. Following the parade, the floats remain lit and are on display in Central Park, allowing visitors to experience the vibrant displays throughout December. This event has been a cherished part of Fort Madisons holiday celebrations since its inception in 1991, drawing attendees from near and far to partake in the holiday cheer.
