Are You Getting Everything Your TownVue Listing Can Do for You?
Most small business owners claim their listing, fill in the basics, and then move on. That is understandable. Running a business does not leave much room for exploring platform features. The problem is that the basics are only the beginning, and the features sitting unused in your account right now are the ones that directly affect how often you get found, how many customers reach out, and how convincingly your listing closes the deal before anyone ever contacts you.
This post is a walk through what your listing is capable of, organized by what is available on your current plan and what becomes possible if you ever decide to step up. No pressure in either direction. The goal is simply to make sure you know what you have and are actually using it.
What Every Plan Is Already Doing for You
Regardless of whether you are on Plus or Pro, your listing is working in ways that go beyond a basic directory entry.
Your business is indexed for Google and AI search from the moment your listing went live. That means ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI, Apple Intelligence, and voice assistants like Siri, Google Assistant, and Alexa can all read your listing details and surface your business when someone nearby asks a relevant question. The structured data built into your listing page gives Google your business name, ratings, hours, and location in a format it can use for enhanced search displays, the kind with star ratings that appear before a customer clicks through.
Your listing also appears on your town's hub page, your category pages, and rotates in local search results on desktop, mobile, and the TownVue app. On Plus and Pro, the photos you have uploaded appear as a slideshow directly in search results, giving potential customers a visual impression of your business before they ever click through to your listing. Results shuffle on every load, which means position is never for sale and every business gets equal time in front of customers. You did not bid for any of that visibility. It came with your listing.
One feature worth making sure you have set up: the QR code in your dashboard. Every listing comes with one, and it links directly to your TownVue page. Print it, post it at your counter, add it to a receipt, tuck it into a bag, or display it anywhere a customer might see it. When they scan it and heart your business, they are automatically notified every time you post an update, a promotion, or a new event. That is a direct line to your most interested customers, maintained without any ongoing effort on your part.
What You Might Not Be Using on Your Current Plan
If you are on Plus, you have access to five AI-ready FAQs, and this is the feature most subscribers leave empty. That is a significant missed opportunity.
AI search tools do not read your social media posts. Your Instagram caption and your Facebook update are invisible to them. Your TownVue FAQs are not. When someone asks ChatGPT or Google AI a local question like "is there a mobile dog groomer near me" or "which florists in town offer same-day delivery," the FAQ sections of TownVue listings are among the sources those tools pull from to build the answer. A well-written answer to "Do you offer gift cards?" or "Do you serve areas outside your home town?" can put your business in an AI-generated recommendation to someone who never typed your name.
The more specific detail you give an AI tool to work with, the more likely it is to recommend your business over one with a bare-bones listing. Five well-written FAQs can be the difference between showing up in an AI-generated recommendation and being invisible to it entirely.
If you are not sure what questions to answer, use the AI Suggest tool inside your account. It drafts FAQ questions directly from your existing listing details, your hours, categories, description, location, and any pricing you have listed. Review them, adjust if needed, and publish in seconds.
Also worth checking: your social profile links. Adding your Facebook, Instagram, Google, or Yelp links to your listing helps AI engines confirm your business identity across the web, which makes your information more credible in AI search results. It takes about two minutes to add and costs nothing.
If you have active promotions or coupons, make sure they are posted to your listing. Residents who have hearted your business receive an automatic notification the moment a new offer goes live. That is your most loyal audience getting a direct alert about your current deal, with no ad spend required. Your listing card also picks up a coupon tag on town pages and Top Picks pages while an offer is running, giving you additional visual presence in local search results at no extra cost.
When Pro Starts to Make Sense
Pro is not for every business, and there is no reason to upgrade if Plus is covering everything you need. Here is where the calculation changes.
If your business serves customers in more than one town, the math on service-area reach is worth knowing. Plus covers three service-area towns, meaning your listing appears on the hub pages of those towns in addition to your home town. Pro covers unlimited service-area towns. For a plumber, contractor, mobile service, or any business that travels to customers, the difference in reach between three towns and unlimited is substantial.
If you run multiple locations, Pro covers up to five physical locations on a single account, each with its own listing and its own analytics. Five Plus subscriptions would cost $50 per month. Pro covers the same five locations for $49. If you are currently managing multiple listings on separate Plus accounts, you are already past the crossover point.
Pro also adds a larger card in results: taller, with a bigger image, bigger title, and a warmer background with a gold edge. Position in results never changes because results shuffle on every load, but the card takes up more space and makes a stronger visual impression wherever it appears. In the business directory, on town pages, and on Top Picks pages, a Pro card simply looks more established.
A few other Pro features worth knowing about: a showcase video at the top of your listing, a built-in blog published under your business name, unlimited coupons with scheduling, AI-assistant referral tracking that shows you exactly which visits came from ChatGPT or Perplexity, and two guaranteed social media spotlights per year. For a business that publishes content, runs multiple promotions, or wants deeper analytics, these features represent a meaningfully different tool than Plus.
The Next Step Is Shorter Than You Think
Log into your TownVue account this week and do a quick audit. Check that your FAQ section is filled in with specific, useful answers. Make sure your social profile links are connected. Confirm your active promotions are posted and your photos are current. Grab your QR code if you have not already and put it somewhere a customer will see it.
If you are on Plus and any of the Pro features described above fit where your business is headed, upgrading is one motion inside your account. Upgrading takes effect immediately and you will be charged right away, so upgrade when you are ready to put those features to work.
Your listing is already working for you. Make sure it is working at full capacity.
And while you are in there, take a few minutes to explore your community on TownVue: heart the local businesses and events you love in your area, because the small business community is strongest when it shows up for itself.
